iOS Engineer

We’re looking for a full-time iOS Developer to join the Base team and help build our mobile product. We're an early-stage startup based in Austin, Texas, and we are looking for people who are passionate about technology and excited about bringing awesome software to every person on the planet.

You will be responsible for taking a project through its full life cycle at top speed. The adventure starts with requirements and design, continues through development, and ends with release and support of everything we build together.

Must Haves

Solid Swift and/or Objective-C skills.
Examples of taking a project from requirements gathering to a final product.
Understanding of mobile performance and battery life trade-offs.
Pride in writing elegant, readable, tested and well-documented code.
Strong desire to continuously learn and improve in all aspects of life.
Team player.

Nice-to-Haves

Full featured apps deployed to the Apple App Store with a solid user base.
Experience working with device sensors and data (GPS, Gyro, Network, Camera).
iOS and/or Windows Phone development experience.
Knowledge of Swift, Objective C, and/or Javascript.
Experience using Github, Trello, and/or Slack.
Experience supporting live applications, including managing beta testing, crash reporting, metrics capturing, and bug handling.
Experience working with a designer or design team.

Cloud Engineer

We’re looking for a full-time Cloud Engineer to join the Base team and help build our massive, 100% cloud-based microservices infrastructure. We're an early-stage startup based in Austin, Texas, and we are looking for people who are passionate about technology and excited about bringing awesome software to every person on the planet.

Must Haves

Production AWS or Azure experience.
Solid .NET or Java skills.
Solid understanding of server and network performance.
Experience writing distributed software for clusters/farms.
Experience with relational databases (Aurora, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).
Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS/REST, and generally how networks work.
Experience supporting live applications, including managing beta testing, crash reporting, metrics capturing, and bug handling.
Strong desire to continuously learn and improve in all aspects life.
Passion for delivering great work.
Team Player.

Nice-to-Haves

Useful experience with Redis or Memcached.
Experience with caching to handle massive traffic loads.
Knowledge of Swift, Objective C, .NET, Java, and/or Javascript.
Experience with AWS Auto Scaling Groups, Docker, and/or container deployment.
Experience using Github, Trello, and/or Slack.
